10 Supplements That Enhance Focus and Energy: My Findings

Posted on June 14, 2026July 10, 2026 By Mere Penny

(I Share My Winning “Stack” In This Post!)

After years of dealing with ADHD-related brain fog, energy crashes, and motivation struggles, I’ve spent a lot of time testing supplements. Not everything works, but a few have become non-negotiable in my daily stack.

These are the 10 supplements I currently use (or have used successfully) to support focus, steady energy, and overall brain health. This is my honest experience as a busy Canadian mom with ADHD; not medical advice.

My Top 10 Focus & Energy Supplements

1. Beef Collagen Peptides

My daily morning staple. I mix one scoop into my coffee. It helps stabilize blood sugar (reducing crashes), supports joints/skin/hair, and provides amino acids for neurotransmitter production. Gentle on the stomach and tasteless.

2. Ashwagandha (KSM-66)

My #1 adaptogen for stress. It helps lower cortisol, reduces anxiety, and improves sleep quality. I take it in the morning and notice I feel calmer and more resilient throughout the day.

3. Magnesium Glycinate (evening) + Threonate (morning)

Magnesium is a game-changer for ADHD brains. It calms the nervous system, reduces muscle tension, and supports better sleep. I split forms – Threonate for cognitive benefits during the day, Glycinate for relaxation at night.

4. L-Theanine

I pair this with coffee almost every morning. It smooths out caffeine jitters and gives me calm, focused energy without the crash. Perfect for ADHD brains that get overstimulated easily.

5. Rhodiola Rosea

More of My List!

Excellent for mental fatigue and burnout prevention. It helps with focus under stress and gives a gentle energy boost. I take it in the morning when I have a heavy workload.

6. Lion’s Mane Mushroom

Great for brain fog and cognitive support. I’ve noticed better mental clarity and memory when I take it consistently. I usually include it in my morning stack.

7. Creatine Monohydrate

Most people think of this for gym performance, but it’s fantastic for brain energy too. I take it daily (in gummies or powder) and notice better mental stamina.

8. Vitamin D3 + K2

Living in Ontario, I was deficient for years. Supplementing has improved my mood and energy significantly, especially during winter.

9. Omega-3 (Harp Seal Oil)

High-quality omega-3s support brain health, reduce inflammation, and help with mood regulation. I take this daily.

10. B-Complex with Benfotiamine

B vitamins are essential for energy production. Benfotiamine (a form of B1) is particularly helpful for cellular energy and reducing brain fog.
